About

Hi, I’m Josh Osborne an aspiring bladesmith with a deep passion for the trade. Metal fabrication is something I have done from a young age with an interest in making knives. Since 2018 I started my business Rogue Forge as a blacksmith, with the goal of becoming a bladesmith in mind, using the knowledge and experience gained from blacksmithing has helped me tremendously in understanding the fundamentals and art of manipulating steel.

After a few years of extensive research, making and gathering of the right tools for the job, I finally felt comfortable enough to take the leap. In May of 2021 I made the transition from a blacksmith to now a bladesmith. This is something that I am truly passionate about and see many, many more years of growth and enjoyment come from my passion of being a bladesmith. Currently I’m an apprentice bladesmith working towards my first threshold of becoming a journeyman bladesmith, with the goal of earning my master bladesmith title.

I personally forge weld all of the Damascus steel that I use to make knives, I also stabilize and dye the majority of all the wood and other material that’s used for my knife handles, I also picked up leathercrafting to ensure each individual knife I make has a custom fit leather sheath made from genuine veg tan leather and the highest quality materials.

I’ve done a tremendous amount of research and experimenting with different recipes and from that have developed an excellent, all-natural food grade safe balm that is universal in its uses. It works great for prolonging the condition and life of steel, wood, leather textiles, along with many more uses; It’s an excellent product to be used topically to moisturize skin, smooth your beard and is also an amazing product to use on not only horse hoofs but dog paws too.
